The Market Needs Your Help!

As I mentioned in a previous post, last week’s training was an absolute WOW! experience for everyone in attendance. Some of the comments from the attendees were what you might call “over the top”, and the excitement about what they learned and more importantly, what they are going to do with their newfound knowledge even got me excited.
Bill sent me a short email and said, “I found the program extremely valuable as well as enjoyable. My compliments and thanks to Martin and you [Chad] for putting this together and offering it. Just last week (Feb 28th), USA Today ran an article titled, In Lean Times, Retailers Shop For Survival Strategies; They’re Cutting Costs, Listening To Customers. The article discusses how when the economy sputters, people close their wallets and delay purchases, and stores suffer.It goes on to mention that retailers are fighting to gain any edge they can over their rivals and to cushion themselves from the slide in customer spending and many of them are redeploying staff and revising promotions and putting a new stress on low prices.Madison Riley, a retail strategist with consulting firm Kurt Salmon Associates, says, I see clients [retailers] being more aggressive about promotion and reviewing the strategy by which they promote and how often they do it. The retailers accept that we’re in a recession smack in the middle of it.
No one wishes hard times on anyone else – at least not anyone with any degree of character. We certainly don’t. But the fact is, difficult times are when our consultants do the best. It’s when they really get a chance to shine. It’s when business owners are at their wit’s end. They’ve tried everything and are still having a hard time making ends meet.
It’s during these times that they are more receptive to new, out of the box ideas that promise to change the way they operate and put newfound profits in their bank accounts.
